SciModeler: A Toolbox for Consolidating Scientific Knowledge within the Field of Health Behavior Change

چکیده
Abstract Science aims to build and advance general theories from empirical data. This process is complicated by the immense volume of data scientific in some domains, for example field health behavior change. Especially, a systematic mapping between theoretical constructs lacking. We propose toolbox establish that mapping. adopted modeling approach based on literature surveys elicit requirements derive metamodel. graph-based database system implement metamodel, designed web-based tool importing annotated text documents. To evaluate (named SciModeler ), we have conducted case study within change record three theories, studies, in-between. documented how aids closing gaps constructs. demonstrated this enables new types analyses sharing queries (1) refining (2) exploring promising intervention strategies specific context, (3) checking potential impact an platform context. Our supplementary materials promote replication these results. can support consolidation knowledge change, suggest it may be applied other fields, as well. An important direction future work promoting online collaboration graphs.

I recall long ago hearing a quote attributed to Denis Burkitt (long-time surgeon and researcher in Uganda), that all one needs to do useful research is pencil, paper and an enquiring mind. Although I still agree in principle with this idea, it is nowadays also a good idea to know about trial governance, budgeting and accounting, ethical considerations, community engagement and so much more. متن کاملinvestigating the feasibility of a proposed model for geometric design of deployable arch structures
deployable scissor type structures are composed of the so-called scissor-like elements (sles), which are connected to each other at an intermediate point through a pivotal connection and allow them to be folded into a compact bundle for storage or transport. several sles are connected to each other in order to form units with regular polygonal plan views. the sides and radii of the polygons are...
Re-Framing the Knowledge to Action Challenge Through NIHR Knowledge Mobilisation Research Fellows; Comment on “CIHR Health System Impact Fellows: Reflections on ‘Driving Change’ Within the Health System”
The ambition of the Canadian Institutes for Health Research Health System Impact (HSI) Fellowship initiative to modernise the health system is impressive. Embedded researchers who work between academia and nonacademic settings offer an opportunity to reframe the problem of evidence uptake as a product of a gap between those who produce knowledge and those who use it. As such, there has been an ...
